MedRush is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data to provide our healthcare services:
Account Information: When you create an account, we store your name, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password locally in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Prescription Images: Prescription images you upload are processed entirely in your browser using Tesseract.js OCR. Images are not uploaded to any server.
Location Data: If you grant permission, we use your browser's geolocation API to find nearby hospitals and pharmacies. Location data is processed in real-time and is never stored or transmitted to our servers.
Order History: Completed orders are stored locally in your browser to provide you with order history tracking.

3. Data Storage & Security
All personal data is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Key security measures include:
Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 with a unique salt before storage
No personal data is transmitted to external servers
OCR processing occurs entirely on-device via WebAssembly (Tesseract.js)
Hospital data is fetched from OpenStreetMap's Overpass API (public, anonymized data)
Session management uses local browser storage only
4. Third-Party Services
MedRush integrates with the following third-party services:
Google Maps: Used for pharmacy and hospital navigation. Clicking "Navigate" opens Google Maps in a new tab. Google's privacy policy applies to map interactions.
OpenStreetMap (Overpass API): Used to fetch nearby hospital data from publicly available OpenStreetMap contributions.
Tesseract.js (CDN): OCR engine loaded from jsDelivr CDN for on-device prescription scanning.
5. Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally in your browser:
Account data persists until you delete it or clear your browser data
Order history remains available as long as your localStorage is intact
You can delete your account at any time by clearing browser data for this site
6. Your Rights
Access: View all your stored data through the profile panel
Edit: Update your name, email, phone, and address at any time
Delete: Clear your browser data to remove all stored information
Portability: Your data stays on your device and is fully under your control
7. Children's Privacy
MedRush is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
